Grow Your Own Edible Mushrooms! with Tim from Innermost Gardens

Come and learn how to grow your own delicious edible mushrooms!  A popular and fascinating way to grow your own protein at home, mushroom kits require minimal maintenance and produce flushes of delicious mushrooms. Understanding the specific requirements for doing this well will make all the difference.

This Growers of Wellington workshop will be run by Tim Packer, a permaculture practitioner and community gardener with a passion for fungi. Tim has been trialling various cultivation techniques for gourmet Oyster mushrooms up at Innermost Gardens, a long-standing, lush community garden in Mt Victoria, Wellington.

In a jam-packed hour Tim will share with us his insights into the important role of fungi in our soil food web systems and lessons learnt from his gourmet oyster mushroom cultivation trials, including a demonstration of a simple cultivation technique, using food safe buckets.

Workshop Location - The Willis street end of Bond Street in the Te Ara Taiao Shipping container.
